A fully staffed, Christian, certified team of caregivers offers free care for your children, infants through 5 years of age, every Sunday 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while you attend worship and Sunday school.
9:45 A.M. SUNDAY
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL GROUPS
Our Children’s Sunday School is offered each Sunday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Classes are in the Children’s wing located up the stairs from the Sanctuary. There are five age levels for Children:
- 3 years old through Pre-Kindergarten
- Kindergarten and 1st Grade
- 2nd Grade
- 3rd and 4th Grade
- 5th Grade
Our Children’s Sunday School is planned and led by a TEAM of Coordinators and Teachers. There are always 8-10 Safe Sanctuary certified adults present with children while the program is happening.
Our Children’s Sunday School begins at 9:45 with the “9:45 Club” gathering in the Gathering Room. We sing, pray, and learn as a whole group (all age levels) until 10:00 a.m. and then go to our age level classes. Every child becomes a member of the “9:45 Club” when they come the first time, and the second time they attend they receive a CD of music to help prepare for special musical events and worship.
Our Children’s Sunday School is an experience of vital Christian community where every child knows they are loved. Each class studies the faith/bible story for the day, and is engaged in fun, mini-vacation bible school activities that cause them to want to come back every Sunday! We celebrate each child’s growth as they advance in their spiritual journey: kindergarteners receive a special pin when the graduate into that age level, and 3rd graders receive a bible when they advance into that age level.
11:00 A.M. CHILDREN’S WORSHIP
Worship for Young Disciples (W.Y.D. – pronounced “wide”) is an extension of the Regular Worship Service at 11:00 a.m. Children can join the W.Y.D. group each Sunday by: (1) joining the W.Y.D. Shepherd [with parent’s permission] upstairs at the end of Children’s Sunday School; or, (2) joining the W.Y.D. Shepherd as they enter the Sanctuary for 11:00 Worship; or, (3) joining the W.Y.D. Shepherd at the conclusion of the Children’s Sermon. The W.Y.D. Children create a processional after the Children’s Sermon, out of the Sanctuary and into the W.Y.D. Worship Center in the Fellowship Hall.
W.Y.D. is a time of true children’s worship that includes: singing, praying together, making an offering, learning the bible story, retelling the bible story and dramatizing it, discussing the story in “Wondering Time”, dancing, doing art activities, and sharing in a “feast” snack.
